We would like to inform you about the changes that will take effect on 17th March 2025.
The south side entrance will be close due to renovation works, at the same time the north side access will be opened. The crypt can also be accessed from the north side.
Weekday operating hours:
On weekdays, the construction of the scaffold continues in the space under the dome. Visitors can move up to the cordon stretched along the line of the Bakócz Chapel (The chapel can also be visited), from there they can reach the shop of devotional abjects and the treasury under the constructed protective roof.
Weekend operating schedule:
With the exception of the fenced area under the scaffolding, the liturgical space is free to visit.
During the renovation works of the basilica, unexpected, serious technical problems arose. The solution of these propblems is inevitable. Unfortunately, this requires extra work and time. As a result it is now certain that the demolition of the scaffolding will be postponed until late autumn.
